It would be of great help to new faculty to meet as many Truman people as possible in this informal setting, so I urge you to attend. Thanks to the President’s Office for sponsoring this event.
Provost Paino invites you to attend Opening Convocation and you are also invited to participate in the processional with or without academic regalia. The optional processional will form in the corridor of McClain Hall at 9:40 or immediately after the Truman Week classes end. We will save seats for those participating in the processional. This year’s faculty speaker is Lucy Lee. The title of her remarks is, “Today, Kirksville; Tomorrow, the World." The student speaker is Kelly Gorman ’12 and the title of her remarks is "Define Yourself.”
New faculty join emeriti faculty as our special guests and we offer you complimentary tickets to this dinner and lecture. Childcare is available with your rsvp.
Tickets for you and a guest are reserved for this particular Lyceum event. Provost Troy Paino hosts a reception in your honor in the University Art Gallery prior to the performance. Enjoy heavy hors d'oeuvres. Childcare is complimentary by RSVP.
For New Faculty -- Get your bearings in Kirksville by meeting some of the natives. Learn how unique this town really is, and unearth some of the treasures beyond the boundaries of campus. We hope you can join us for an evening of fun, fellowship and food as we celebrate this special season. You may bring a sweet or savory dish or a finger food to share if you like.
